Hello
Totally frustrated right now!
My 12 yr old daughter had a couple of sores that have become infected. I tried making a charcoal poultice with tea tree oil in it , and left for 24 hours (changing at 12hrs) but the sores were still growing so we are currently trying topical antibiotics- which I'm much happier using than oral- but they still seems to be growing and spreading. We may have to resort to oral antibiotics. We have tried so many different treatments as my other 10 year old daughter has had this infection twice in the last year. Both times they got into quite large yucky wounds and she ended up on oral antibiotics as the infections were going deeper. I'm so frustrated at having two rounds of antibiotics for her, and possibly another round coming up for 12 yr old.
What I'm wondering is WHY we are dealing with this infection so much!!?? We are quite healthy compared to many families so I'm finding it really frustrating that we're dealing with this. I'm wanting to boost their immunity to prevent future episodes but not sure who to go to. A naturopath? Then I'm wondering if I should be looking at our tank water?? I'm at a loss.. anyone have some tips at all pls let me know.
Environmental Toxins could also be an issue. Especially since both girls have it. Could your home have some kind of water damage or mould? Skin issues are common with mould and related mycotoxins/bacteria. My only child with eczema was conceived when I was working in a water damaged high rise building, and living in a unit where the split system AC leaked into the wall. Then when he was born we lived in a different place where the shower leaked into the cupboard on the other side of the wall. Thank God I knew about GAPS and we got on top of it pretty quickly once we removed ourselves from the mould.
I find that these things flair for 2 reasons: 1) Gut inflammation (from stress/ lack of sleep/ too much on/ a particular food) and 2) Hormonal bursts as they grow. Actually it’s probably also 1) because it’s the body trying to detox the large amount of used hormones that causes inflammation and liver struggle especially if Epstein Barr Virus is in the system (which it is for 80% of us). Eating anti inflammatory foods for a period, more veg, more broth helps long term. The only remedy that worked for us was mixing a small amount of healing balm with a few drops of iodine and applying this every few hours. Hope this helps!
